Making balance beams

By Matt

Today we decided to make some balance beams for the kids. The morning was taken up teaching Riss to use the hammer and not break all the wood we had set aside for the beams, and trying to find where Angus had hidden the nails. Needless to say it took a little longer than expected.

This afternoon the kids worked together (mostly) to paint the beams. Tomorrow they will decorate them with some coloured paint.

Pretty in pink…

By Matt

Angus… what do you think you’re doing mate? You’re supposed to be in bed.  “I’m painting.” “That is not OK Angus, we’re really upset…’, ‘sorry daddy for painting your wallet pink…’, ‘what about my band new nutri-metics lipsitck?…’, ‘sorry mummy…’

Later…when being tucked into bed… ‘daddy can I see your pink wallet that I painted with mummy’s pink lipstick?’

A weekend with friends…

By Matt

Angus kept Ian and Mel entertained for an entire weekend when they visited in late October. From ladder climbing to bubble blowing and the simple pleasures of splashing in the mud. He had the whole 2yo boy thing covered!

There were two in the tub…

By Matt

Angus and Bryce had a great weekend when Cliff and Loz came to stay for the night. Sometimes there were some ‘sharing issues’ but for the most part they had great fun together as evidenced in these great photos which Dee took.

2nd Birthday

By Matt

Well, where on earth did the last two years go!? Angus turned two amid some crazy lounge room shenanigans necessitated by some uncharacteristically dismal weather. Great fun was had by all with many lollies, chocolates and toys!

Highlights of the afternoon included watching Angus play with his new tea-set while Max chased Aunty Lucy with a toy chainsaw, Angus running over all his other presents with an enormous new dump truck, Angus cutting his cake with the toy chainsaw and all three boys playing in the mud puddles to cap things off!
